A year ago today...

(click HERE for pictures of our departure)

this was the last picture we took before we flew away to start the new chapter of our lives.  It's been a roller coaster ride since day one! There were days when things seemed so dim and days when it seemed like nothing can go wrong. Admittedly, there were even days when I doubted we were in God's plan when we moved because life just seemed so difficult here. We've gone through fires before but having to start over with 3 children really intensified every small trial.

BUT GOD...

continued to show His faithful in EVERYTHING!! I can't even begin to tell you how much I've grown, personally, in my relationship with my Savior. There has not been a moment in our trials where I didn't feel God's presence. Despite my lack of faithfulness to Him, I was always overwhelmed with His peace. Just knowing that God has a plan and His plans are always perfect was enough to bring me to my knees in repentance. Then in His wonderful grace, He would allow the joy of His love to overflow! Amen!

Our family has been beyond blessed to have crossed paths with some great men, women and children in the schools, work and neighborhoods.  Our sole desire coming here is to "spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to every person on the island and beyond" (Mission of Island Grace Church) and the Lord is truly blessing that! We pray that in the next year the Lord would continue to use us in the spreading of His word!

If you remember us in your prayers, please pray that...
  • God would protect 1st our relationship with Him, then in our relationship as husband and wife.
  • That God would build our relationship with our children and with the body of Christ.
  • That God would reveal Himself to our children while they are still young.
  • That God would use us in the making of disciples.
Here are some other needs we have as a family...
  • Al would get acclimated in his new job.
  • God would provide for a second vehicle for us.
  • That God would continue to provide for our financial needs. That may mean a part-time job for Al or a part-time job for myself (one that does not interfere with the children's needs).
Mahalo to all those who are praying for us! We dearly miss our family and friends but are so grateful for the privilege to serve our King on the beautiful island of Oahu!

Aloha nui loa!
