Campus Crossroads...THE END

Tonight we celebrated our final days at Campus Crossroads, the Youth Ministry of our home church.

I can't believe this is actually happening...

My beloved and I have a combined total of 36 years serving in this ministry, 16 for me and 20 for my love (this doesn't even include the years we were there as students).  I have to say, these have been the BEST years of my life!!  Through this ministry God saved the two of us.  Through this ministry He allowed us to grow as students. He allowed us to serve Him through this ministry as single people, then as a couple, then as parents.  He's allowed us to build relationships with dear brothers and sisters that will last an eternity!

I will miss it so much!

Here's a favorite story I'd like to share about the ministry.  There was a time when our staff was so very short handed.  My beloved and I were newly married and we were at the church building at 2:00am setting up for an event.  Even though we were tired from work (and we had to go to work the next morning) we glanced at each other and my love said, "Isn't this great?  I'm so thankful that we can be here serving God together."  That night made such an impact on the way I served in ministry.  I learned to strive more and more to be excellent in serving God.  If it means that a sacrifice is required on my part, let it be.  If it means that I have to be up at 2:00am, let it be!  Don't we serve a GREAT God? Isn't He worth it?

ABSOLUTELY!!

"Don't be content in being content" is something that I've told the gals I disciple and meet with. And it's something that I constantly tell myself.  Strive to be more excellent in all that I do.

So I say to all the past, present and future staff/students of Campus Crossroads, "Don't be content in being content! Excel still more for the glory of the Lord!"

"But be very careful to keep the commandment and the law that Moses the servant of the LORD gave you: to love the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, to obey his commands, to hold fast to him and to serve him with all your heart and all your soul." - Joshua 22:5
